Lita Cabellut (1961, Spain) is a wide-ranging artist who lives and works in the Netherlands. She is considered the fourth most quoted Spanish artist. Her status as a full-fledged artist means that her artistic activity is developed in multiple disciplines. She does not only touch painting, but also the artistic variables that reach all genres, from sculpture to photography, installation to video or performance, without excluding operatic scenery, illustration, graphic work and also poetry.
Lita Cabellut grew up in Barcelona and from the age of twelve she was brought up in a Catalan family that gave her access to the knowledge of the Spanish masters at the Prado Museum, after which she immediately dedicated her passion to art. She moved to the Netherlands at the age of 19, where she studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
Over the years, Cabellut has developed a unique technique characterized by large-scale canvases that combine traditional techniques and modern applications of painting.
